On cold bright days of frost wrap up warm , take a flask of something hot and just before 08:30am be seated within the mossy forest floor adjacent the reservoir and watch the sunrise filter through the trees. Encounter the moss , the old ferns and remaining plants being touched with the whiteness of frost. Go rummaging in the depth of the woodlands as there are still fungus delights and if its misty the fallen tree roots create mystical giants. After the rain fungus and lichen pop up on old trees and the saturated tree barks display wonderful colours. You may have the company of a Robin on your journey , have some seeds ready for them as a treats and thanks for being here . Be curious , be open and mindful to see everything as beautiful , it is not your eyes but your heart which perceives beauty.

Find colours and contrasts , look deeply how the frost crystals sit on the old plants and mute their colour even more. Visit the ponds whilst frozen over and feel its still breath resting from the high energy of the summer. Find protruding moss covered tree stumps capped with a sprinkling of whiteness and remember these are still alive and supported by the network of trees.

The photographs are unedited and real as nature does not need embellishing but needs us to love it by re-wilding our hearts and falling back in love.
