March
I made wandering through Bull Crag this month mainly about trees and venturing into parts of the unexplored woodland to find beautiful enclaves. When there is a stillness of a place and everything stripped away the woodland reveals more , there is less noise to distract you and that provides focus on things you probably missed during the growing seasons.
There are old plants some making silhouettes to the reservoir , some dangling catkins. Close up the catkins are beautiful with dabbles of colours. I am looking for winter greens and browns , lichen and moss encrusted tree stumps with strange mysterious forms.
During the end of March new life begins to appear. At first it is tentative , hopeful and inquisitive to see whether its time yet but nearing the end , blackberry bushes are sprouting new leaves and the first yellow in the form of Gorse has manifested that vibrant colour.
The fun is exploration and strengthening your mindfulness to spend longer just being curious about a colour , a form , a texture and a story of awe.
Walking through nature with a camera should be joy and not anxiety of image outcome. My images are never post processed , they are about authenticity of nature , what you will see and feel.
