April

I was treated to cold and misty early mornings turning into bright blue sky and warm sunshine on my trips around the peninsular. In early April things were just beginning to wake up and my focus was finding new growth but still finding wonderful tree characters. Mid April it was apparent that spring was on its way , The withered old gorse bushes had delightful yellow flowers slowly crowning the tops and eventually announcing springs arrival as beacons of new beginnings. Dandelions were in different states of growth and some beginning to unfold in the warm afternoon sun. Different leaf growth cadences to their locations and some so advanced in unlikely places made fun of slowing down and mindfully looking . Nature will always surprise and reward you for being present. Along the kielder water pathway sections the mist and the sunshine played host to the remaining grasses which is gentle reminder that everything is beautiful , everything has meaning and everything brings life.

What i love about April is its in-betweenness of seasons and the anticipation of new life starting. The birds sacred spells to waken the trees from winter are becoming voluminous within the still woodland. Some of the old plants have manifested into something so beautiful as their last wish before returning back to the ground.

Instead of being obsessed with outcome and how others perceive your photography celebrate nature , be abundant , be excited , be mindful and have an intention of connection to everything you see is beautiful.
