May
Just like all of Kielder spring took a while to realise it is spring now despite the loud chirpings of the birds desperately waking reminding them of spring. After a few more weeks the increased temperatures gently persuaded everything to begin its yearly cycle of growth. How magnificent is seeing new beginnings of life once more and how we can learn from trusting ourselves to flourish with patience and love. The native tress and filling with leaves and some with buds promising a vibrant June. You have to put the work in though and slow down your trip around the peninsular so you may find quirky plants before they transition into flowers. Along the paths adjacent the reservoir are a commune of gnarly gorse now crowned with wonderful yellows catching the sun rays. Soon these verges will explode into colour over the next three months. I love the contrasts of the walk , one moment you are within a forest which always has a wonderful energy about it that calms and hugs you , then you are along the verges to the reservoir with a promise of wild flowers. May is still serene and a early morning walk rewards you with the sun rising above Falstone or go anti clockwise in the evening and soak in the most wonderful sunsets looking towards Kielder castle.
