I was quite surprised about how much this place was advanced in spring than its Kielder Family 10-15miles north . However , what remained embellished the beauty of what had manifested and i was grateful to witness this as those gnarly , lichen encrusted hawthorn trees will be densely covered in green leaves and for a moment graced with delicious white blossom. Even the darkened rose hips complimented the new growth.

The first thing you notice is the woodland floor becoming green again with different plants and delicate flowers which you have to go onto your knees to say hello. Just after the first bridge a clump of wild garlic are on their way to perfume the woodland and delight everyone with their delicate white flowers.

Within the wooded areas which were bare a few weeks ago have wisps of green leaves playing around the tree trunks and dancing on their branches. It feel melodic , light and full of hope. You realise that nature is not linear and that everything has its own cadence of life through the year , its own time to flourish and it invites you to be the same.

When you let go of needing an outcome to your photography and just enjoy the moment of capturing something because its beautiful creating a moment of enquiry , when you see everything as your family and you are excited say hello all brings a deep and meaningful connection to something you are part of but forgotten. It is the process of being present with life which creates wonder and awe.
