June
A tale of two parts , one which at this time of year is magically transformed into a colourful wonderland of interesting wild plants coming and going and then the calmness of the woodland framing this. Blink and it changes , waves of colour like a constant surf follow a pattern , one minute rich cadmium yellow buttercups shower us with goodness and waiting for its own riot lies white daisies and then more. Confident in its own presence lies a cycle of clover , mainly purple but some white and if you get close to them there are colours which lie between. Do not let what is vibrant and abundant distract you into thinking that is all to be seen , there are majestic thistles joining in , knapweed showing up , cow parsley growing up, the grasses are massing and even some of the dandelion seed heads have not yet been released on there expansion journey. What i love is the maturing of the verges into stories that will begin turning into vibrant Jackson Pollock paintings coming in July. Not all is lying on the verge , here and there native trees flourish and they show off blooms of white bringing your eye upwards and across through the woodland noticing quaint un-furled ferns and brightly coloured ground elder leaves. What is remarkable is the lush nature ponds , 4 weeks ago it was quiet , patient and longing for its time to flourish. Now , there is vitality , green lushness and a silent chorus of critters that are busy creating life , focussed on being alive they do not even acknowledge you.
A nature meditation is walking through with open awareness lightly anchoring yourself to the sights , sounds and aromas whilst knowing your breath and body is too part of the scene. There are no words necessary , just dwell peacefully in the moment to loosen that familiarity of constant thinking , needing and wanting. You need no words to know how it feels , just feel it , be with it and let it be that.
