Nature Heals

Following the psychological principles of nature healing and forest bathing this is a foundational meditation to practice sitting with nature and absorb the energy through awareness.

Nature is the natural way to calm your nervous system

Connects you directly to the one -ness of the earth

Creates a peaceful mind

Connect your body to earth

Mindfulness knows your are sitting when you are sitting

Bring your attention to your posture.

Is your body alert and responsive ?

Are you comfortable and relaxed ?

Learn your best position

Be like a tree

Be rooted in the earth by sitting on the ground and bring your awareness to how this feels.

Make enquiry to how your body feels with the ground supporting your body.

Settle your Mind

Your breath is nature’s spirit

Bringing your awareness to your breath and feeling the sensation of it through your body is honouring life itself.

Take some time just doing that

Now you and nature are both present and breathing mindfully.

Deepen your breath

Slowly deepen your breath , counting 4 intentional deep inward breaths feeling the air enter your body and hold for a second a count to 4 with your release bring awareness to the air leaving your body and how you feel.

Balancing your nervous system

Repeat 10 times or longer if you feel you need more

How does that feel in your body ?

Let those thoughts dissipate away by naturally bringing your attention back to breath.

Feel the flow of air

Your Body is Earths Body

Returning to your body is going home.

It remembers you all the time.

Know your Body

For a few minutes gently scan your body

How are you today ?

Are there any sensation ?

Are you warm , cold , just OK ?

You know what you know

It is OK not to be great

Just feel without judgement

Let things just be

Let your body teach you without needing thoughts

Rest now and feel the breath of nature

Open your awareness to the breath of nature

Listen to the sounds

Smell the scents

Look at the colours and shapes

Feel your body resting and being supported by earth

Sense your breath

Open up to everything , let be everything and sit in the presence of natures breath.

Let everything be

No need for thoughts , no need to name , no need to explain just be as nature intended in silence.

Let Nature support you and anchor you to earth

Bring yourself back to breath when your mind wanders and open up once more to natures breath
